Preserving Our Forests
Dennis is running with Hilary Denk, Eric Bergman, and Shannon Burns for Forest Preserve District. Over the past several years Dennis, Shannon, Eric and Hilary have been involved with efforts to preserve and protect open spaces and natural areas in our communities. They have seen first-hand the poor leadership and questionable choices of our current elected officials. They are running to preserve our forests for the future and protect them from further bad choices.
As good stewards of our Forest Preserves, we will do the hard work of careful long-range planning that considers not only the present, but future protection and the ability to pay for projects well into the future. We will conduct our business openly and honestly and scrutinize the budgets and plans brought before us in ways that the current board has failed to do.
In short we will:
- Provide committed stewardship of our forests,
- Fully engage the public through public hearings and open discussion, and
- Bring intense scrutiny to the fiscal management of Forest Preserve funds.
